Genesis 1 Arts: Young Artists Portfolio
Help your young artist build confidence, creativity, and strong artistic skills through Genesis 1 Arts: Young Artists Portfolio, an 8-week, skill-based fine arts program designed for homeschool students.
This in-person course is designed to help students grow as artists by developing foundational techniques while creating meaningful works of art. Through guided instruction and hands-on projects, students will explore the building blocks of visual art, including drawing fundamentals, observation, shading and value, color theory, composition, perspective, painting techniques, and mixed media.
Each lesson builds upon the previous one, helping students strengthen artistic skills, creative problem-solving, and confidence in their own creative voice. Students will practice seeing like artists, making intentional choices, and applying techniques to create original artwork.
Rooted in a Christian worldview, Genesis 1 Arts celebrates the creativity of our Creator and encourages students to explore the beauty, order, and wonder found throughout God's creation.
Students will learn:
Drawing fundamentals and observational skills
Shading, value, and creating form
Color theory and color mixing
Composition and design principles
Perspective and creating depth
Painting techniques and mixed media exploration
Creative problem-solving and artistic expression
By the end of the 8-week experience, students will have developed a collection of original artwork that reflects their growth, creativity, and expanding artistic skills.
